A Process that Reduces Your Risk

Offshore Solutions has an organized, systematic process that we have developed over the last 20 years. Our mission is to make it as easy as possible for American companies to outsource to China. When we receive your RFQ, our engineers in both the U.S. and China carefully evaluate your project and develop a strategy to get you the best quality at the lowest cost. Our thorough review of each part increases our success rate, results in an excellent understanding of your product, and minimizes the risk to your company. Our full technical review includes a feasibility study, material and standards evaluation, and our recommendations for cost savings.

1. Product Analysis

Our experienced sourcing team takes the risk out of factory selection. We make sure there is no room for interpretation so we find the right factory and the Chinese team understands the materials, process, and exact product to be manufactured. We have an Approved List of factories that are already working with us to produce quality parts on time. In order for a factory to be approved, we follow TS-16949 audit procedures. For new factories, our team locates the most qualified factories to build your custom engineered parts at a competitive price. Once a factory is selected, Offshore begins the negotiation process with the factory. Negotiation is often an iterative process. The material cost is compared to published prices. All of our negotiations are in the factory's native language and cultural context.

2. Factory Audit and Selection

Once you decide to move forward, Offshore holds an APQP meeting to review all project drawings and critical dimensions. We cover timelines, packaging, and any inventory requirements. Offshore also has a meeting at the Chinese factory to review drawings and critical dimensions, re-evaluate quality systems, confirm PPAP levels, process capabilities, and communicate your specific requirements. We take into account Chinese holidays to ensure the expectations of all parties are aligned. Based on the results of these meetings, our team puts together a Microsoft Project timeline for you to monitor the progress of your project.

While primary responsibility for tooling rests with the factory, Offshore provides another level of supervision to assure that tooling is progressing as required. Offshore has weekly conference calls with the factory and visits the facility during tooling to ensure on-time delivery. We provide you with digital photos of tooling progress and frequent status reports. There are also opportunities for you to have video conferences with any of our bi-lingual staff in China. If there are any problems, our engineers are at the factories to oversee the process.

3. Tooling

Offshore oversees the production launch and carefully monitors the entire process to assure quality. Your project will have an American project manager with counterparts in China. Our project manager in China keeps the factory on task, on schedule, and focused on your project. Offshore conducts continuous on-site supervision throughout the production process. This includes audits of both the factory and any sub-contractors. We also conduct random production sampling. While not required, there is an open invitation for your team to visit the factories at any time during tooling and production.

Offshore conducts final quality assurance and oversees all third party inspections. We ensure that the factories are following the process flow and control plan. For automotive customers, we aid in the review and submission of PPAP documents. For logistics, we provide one source for multiple parts and multiple factories in one shipment. New parts are delivered to your loading dock with no paperwork burden. Consolidated freight and U.S. warehousing means that no shipment is too small or too large.
